Plum Pudding

How to prepare Plum Pudding:

Christmas brings a lot of dishes.There is no christmas without the vintage cakes and pies.Here i am sharing such dishes with you all...................




Ingredients required:

Bread crumbs-250gms
Flour-250gms
Butter-500gms
Sugar-500gms
Egg-10ns
Honey-100ml
Caramel-125ml
Spice mix
Fruits,soaked

Fruits,soaked:
Dates-1000gms
Apricot-600gms
Fig-600gms
Ginger peel,finely chopped-300gms
Seeded raisins-1000gms
Almonds flakes-300gms
Pistachio-300gms
Cashew nut-500gms
Walnut-200gms
Brandy-1litre
Rum-1litre
Black Jack-2litres

Chop all the fruits into small pieces.Soak fruits in liquor,keep it minimum for a month for fermentation.


Spice Mix:
Cinnamon-100gms
Clove-75gms
Nutmeg-50gms
Ginger50gms
Fennel-125gms
Coriander-125gms
star anise-125gms
Cardamom-125gms
All powdered.....


Making Method:


  • Mix and make a cream of butter and sugar.
  • Gradually add the eggs and mix well.Add caramel,honey,spice mix and soaked fruits one by one.
  • Fold the flour and bread crumbs in to the mixture.
  • Grease the mould with butter and powdered sugar.
  • Pour the mixture into the mould.Cover the mould with aluminium foil.
  • Steam the pudding for five hours.Remove and let it set for minimum one day.
  • Serve with brandy sauce.
